Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography

Inserts an index or a table of contents at the current cursor position. To edit an index or table of contents, place the cursor in the index or table of contents, and then choose Insert - Table of Contents and Index - Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography.

To access this command...

From the menu bar:

Choose Insert - Table of Contents and Index - Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography

From the context menu:

Choose Edit Index in the index.

From the tabbed interface:

Choose Reference - Table of Contents.

On the Reference menu of the Reference tab, choose Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography.

From toolbars:

You can also preview the index or table in this dialog.

Depending on the type of index or table that you select, the following tabs are present.

Type

Use this tab to specify and define the type of index that you want to insert. You can also create custom indexes.

āˇƒāˇ–āļ āļš

Specify the format of the index or table entries. The appearance of this tab changes to reflect the type of index that you selected on the Type tab.

āˇƒāˇ–āļ āļš

Assign paragraph styles to index titles and index entries in Table of Contents, Indexes, and Bibliography. For Alphabetical Indexes, paragraph styles can be assigned to separators. You can also edit paragraph styles from this dialog.

āˇƒāˇ’āļģāˇƒāˇŠ āļ´āˇšāˇ…āˇ’

Specifies the number of columns and the column layout for a page style, frame, or section.

Use this tab to specify the column layout for the index or table of contents. By default, the index title is one-column wide and extends out from left page margin.

Area (Background, Highlighting)

Set the fill options for the selected drawing object or document element.
