Setting up a remote file service connection

To access this command...

From the menu bar:

Select File - Open Remote...

Select File - Save Remote...

From the start center:

Press Open Remote...

From the tabbed interface:

Long click on File - Open then Open Remote...

Long click on File - Save then Save Remote...

From toolbars:

Icon Open Remote

Open Remote

Icon Save Remote

Save Remote

Then press Manage Services button in the dialog to open the File Services dialog.


Connecting to a WebDAV server

In the File Services dialog, set:

Note: the root of the file service is provided by the file service administrator and may consists of scripts files, parameters and paths.


Once the connection is defined, click OK to connect. The dialog will dim until the connection is established with the server. A dialog asking for the user name and the password may pop up to let you log in the server. Proceed entering the right user name and password.

Connecting to SSH servers

Connecting to a SSH server is not available on Windows systems. On other platforms, it depends on D-Bus, GIO and GVfs with SSH support present on the system.


In the File Services dialog, set:

Once the connection is defined, click OK to connect. The dialog will dim until the connection is established with the server.

Connecting to a Windows share

In the File Services dialog, set:

Once the connection is defined, click OK to connect. The dialog will dim until the connection is established with the server.

Connecting to Google Drive

In the File Services dialog, set:

Once the connection is defined, click OK to connect. The dialog will dim until the connection is established with the server.
