Adding Text

There are several types of text you can add to a drawing or presentation:

Adding a Text Box

  1. Click the Text iconIcon and move the mouse pointer to where you want to enter the text box.

  2. Drag a text box to the size you want in your document.

  3. Type or paste your text into the text box.

Double-click the text to edit it or to format text properties, such as font size or font color. Click the border of the text box to edit the object properties, such as border color or arranging in front or behind other objects.

Fitting Text to Frames

  1. Create a text box as described in the steps above.

  2. With the text object selected, choose Format - Text. The Text dialog opens.

  3. On the Text tab page, clear the Fit height to text checkbox, then select the Fit to frame checkbox. Click OK.

  4. Now you can resize the text box to change the size and shape of the text characters.

Text Tied to a Graphic

You can add text to any graphic after double-clicking the graphic.

To determine the position of the text, use the settings in Format - Text.

  1. For example, click the arrow next to the Callouts iconIcon to open the Callouts toolbar.

  2. Select a callout and move the mouse pointer to where you want the callout to start.

  3. Drag to draw the callout.

  4. Enter the text.

Copying Text

  1. Select the text in your Writer document.

  2. Copy the text to the clipboard (Edit - Copy).

  3. Click the page or slide where you want to paste the text.

  4. Paste the text using Edit - Paste or Edit - Paste special.

    Using Paste special, you can choose the text format to be pasted. Depending on formats, you can copy different text attributes.

Importing Text

  1. Click the page or slide where you want to import the text.

  2. Elektu je Enmeti - Dosiero.

  3. Select a text file (*.txt) or an HTML file and click Insert. The Insert Text dialog opens. Click OK to insert the text.
