Text Grid

Adds a text grid to the current page style. This option is available for Asian languages.

To access this command...

From the menu bar:

Menu Format - Page Style - Text Grid tab.

From the tabbed interface:

Choose Layout - Page Style - Text Grid tab.

On the Layout menu of the Layout tab, choose Page Style - Text Grid tab.

From the sidebar:

Open the Page Style deck, choose the page style, choose Edit in context menu, then Text Grid tab.

From the status bar:

Click on the displayed Page Style area, choose Text Grid tab.

From toolbars:

Grid

Adds or removes a text grid for lines or characters to the current page style.

No grid

Removes the text grid for lines or characters to the current page style.

Grid (lines only)

Adds a line grid for the current page style.

Grid (lines and characters)

Adds lines and character grid for the current page style.

Snap to characters

When Grid (Lines and characters) is selected and Use square page mode for text grid is not selected, this feature helps cursor movement and text selection "snap" to the edges of characters rather than moving freely between spaces. This is particularly useful for languages where characters are uniformly sized (like CJK scripts).

Lines per page

Enter the maximum number of lines that you want on a page.

Characters per line

Enter the maximum number of characters that you want on a line.

Character Width

Defines the character width of the text grid. This option is active when Use square page mode for text grid is not selected.

Max. base text size

Enter the maximum base text size. A large value results in less characters per line.

Max. Ruby text size

Enter the font size for the Ruby text.

Ruby text below/left from base text

Displays Ruby text to the left of or below the base text.

Grid display

Specifies the printing and color options of the text grid.
