Applying Automatic Formatting to a Selected Cell Range

You can use the AutoFormat feature to quickly apply format a sheet or a selected cell range.

To apply an AutoFormat to a sheet or selected cell range

  1. Select the cells, including the column and row headers, that you want to format.

  2. Choose Format - AutoFormat Styles.

  3. Select which properties to include in an AutoFormat.

  4. Click \<emph\>OK\</emph\>.

    The format is applied to the selected range of cells.

If you do not see any change in color of the cell contents, choose \<item type=\"menuitem\"\>View - Value Highlighting\</item\>.


To Define an AutoFormat for Spreadsheets or Ranges

You can define a new AutoFormat that is available to all spreadsheets and ranges.

  1. Format a sheet or range.

  2. Choose Edit - Select All or select the formatted range.

  3. Choose Format - AutoFormat Styles.

  4. Click \<emph\>Add\</emph\>.

  5. In the \<emph\>Name\</emph\> box of the \<emph\>Add AutoFormat\</emph\> dialog, enter a name for the format.

  6. Click \<emph\>OK\</emph\>.
