DocInformation

DocInformation fields contain information about the properties of a document, such as the date a document was created. To view the properties of a document, choose File - Properties.

When you export and import an HTML document containing DocInformation fields, special LibreOffice formats are used.


Type

Lists the available field types. To add a field to your document, click a field type, click a field in the Select list, and then click Insert. The following fields are available:

Type

Meaning

Modified

Inserts the name of the author, and the date, or the time of the last save.

Editing time

Inserts the amount of time spent on editing a document.

Comments

Inserts the comments as entered in the Description tab page of the File - Properties dialog.

Revision number

Inserts the version number of the current document.

Created

Inserts the name of the author, and the date, or the time when the document was created.

Custom

Inserts the contents of the properties found on the Custom Propertiestab of the File - Properties dialog.

Last printed

Inserts the name of the author, and the date or time that the document was last printed.

Keywords

Inserts the keywords as entered in the Description tab of the File - Properties dialog.

Subject

Inserts the subject as entered in the Description tab of the File - Properties dialog.

Title

Inserts the title as entered in the Description tab of the File - Properties dialog.

The following fields can only be inserted if the corresponding field type is selected in the Type list.


Select

Lists the available fields for the field type selected in the Type list. To insert a field, click the field, and then click Insert.

Tip Icon

To quickly insert a field from the list, hold down and double-click the field.


Fields

Function

Previous page

Inserts the page number of the previous page in the document.

Next page

Inserts the page number of the next page in the document.

Page Number

Inserts the current page number.


In the Format, click the numbering format that you want to use.

If you want, you can enter an Offset for the displayed page number. With an Offset value of 1, the field will display a number that is 1 more than the current page number, but only if a page with that number exists. On the last page of the document, this same field will be empty.

Note Icon

For the "Created", "Modified", and "Last printed" field types, you can include the author, date, and time of the corresponding operation.


Format

Click the format that you want to apply to the selected field, or click "Additional formats" to define a custom format.

When you click "Additional formats", the Number Format dialog opens, where you can define a custom format.

Fixed content

Inserts the field as static content, that is, the field cannot be updated.

Note Icon

Fields with fixed content are only evaluated when you create a new document from a template that contains such a field. For example, a date field with fixed content inserts the date that a new document was created from the template.
