Spacing Between Footnotes

If you want to increase the spacing between footnote or endnote texts, you can add a top and bottom border to the corresponding paragraph style.

  1. Click in a footnote or endnote.

  2. Choose View - Styles.

  3. Right-click the Paragraph Style that you want to modify, for example, "Footnote", and choose \<emph\>Modify\</emph\>.

  4. Click the Borders tab.

  5. In the \<emph\>Default \</emph\>area, click the \<emph\>Set Top and Bottom Borders Only\</emph\> icon.

  6. In the \<emph\>Line\</emph\> area, click a line in the \<emph\>Style \</emph\>list.

  7. Select "White" in the \<emph\>Color \</emph\>box. If the background of the page is not white, select the color that best matches the background color.

  8. In the Padding area, clear the Synchronize check box.

  9. Enter a value in the \<emph\>Top \</emph\>and \<emph\>Bottom \</emph\>boxes.

  10. Click \<emph\>OK\</emph\>.
