Syntaksi:
MsgBox teksti1 As String [,tyyppi1 As Integer [,dialogiotsikko1 As String]] (As Statement) tai MsgBox ( teksti1 As String [,tyyppi1 As Integer [,dialogiotsikko1 As String]]) (As Function)
Parametri:
Teksti1: Merkkijonolauseke, joka esitetÀÀn valintaikkunassa viestinÀ. Rivinvaihdot voidaan lisÀtÀ Chr$(13)-koodilla.
Dialogiotsikko1: Merkkijonolauseke, joka esitetÀÀn valintaikkunan otsikkona. Jos se jÀtetÀÀn pois, otsikkopalkissa nÀkyy sovelluksen nimi.
Tyyppi1: kokonaislukulauseke, jolla voidaan mÀÀrittÀÀ valintaikkunan tyyppi ja lisÀksi painikkeiden lukumÀÀrÀ ja tyyppi sekÀ kuvakkeen tyyppi. Tyyppi1 edustaa bittikuvioiden yhdistelmÀÀ, se tarkoittaa, ettÀ tyyppi1 saadaan laskemalla osatekijöiden lukuarvot yhteen:
